Re: Separate vacations…
.
Whether or not it’s a “good idea” for a spouse to visit his/her family without their other half depends on what type of relationship the “other half” has with their in-laws. If the in-laws and the SIL or DIL get along great…then there’s no reason not to include them in the visit. However, if there is tension and/or bad “feelings” between the in-laws and the SIL/DIL…then a visit may make it worse.
Is it acceptable? That’s for the specific couple to decide. If the husband and wife are comfortable with their decision…everyone else just needs to respect that.
** All the same above apply to separate vacations in general. Its not for everyone. If a couple wants to stay glued to one-another 24/7…then let them be. If a couple wants to go on separate vacations all the time…let them be. It’s their marriage…their partnership. If they’re both happy with their choices…then at the end…that’s all that matters.
