Sensitive people

^ Jaanwar, I find that to be a generalization. As a previous poster, Snowy Winter, suggested, a degree of sensitivity is necessary in both men and women in order to have a civil and humane society. Otherwise, we'd all be animals or "jaanwar." The advantage of sensitivity is that it can potentially allow a person to see things from another person's point of view and that can better our communication with others. I consider myself to be a sensitive person. When I see that someone is in pain because of my words, I try to contemplate my actions from the other person's point of view. This can help me see things from another perspective and it allows me to communicate with the other person.

One cannot avoid sensitivity. And it would be foolish to eliminate it all-together. It's the quality that parents have toward their children and motivates them to raise their kids in spite of the demands and heartache. It's the quality that enables us to make friendships and maintain them. It's the quality that enables us to reach out and help those in need. It's the quality that enables us to develop the courage to alleviate the suffering of others. It's known as sensitivity. ** Over-sensitivity........or **hypersensitivity is another issue. But sensitivity in itself is necessary for survival not only among the human race but among animals as well.

Re: Sensitive people

RV - I dont mean to re-generalize, but that certain degree of sensitivity comes by default in all human beings (and a lot of animals). When someone tells you that they are *sensitive, *my post talks about those breeds. One should not get or expect preferential treatment on the grounds that they are sensitive.

Having said that, one could be in a certain state of mind when they are disturbed, hurt or otherwise down, that should be respected.

Re: Sensitive people

^ and how about if they use "sensitive" as an explanation for any unpleasant or otherwise uncomfortable behaviour they may have shown prior..i mean..just curious.

Re: Sensitive people

^ Sorry didn't really get you here Sara.

If you mean when they give you tough time and then take the sensitive-nature-plea, yea you should know they are just pulling an act.
