Which ayath are u talking about? I know this is not the religious forum, but discussion has moved on to the religious edicts and needs clarification.
Muslims regard message of Muhammed (pbuh) as a continuation of Abrahamic traditions followed by Moses (Hazrat Musa) and Jesus (Hazrat Eissa), if that is the case then the message carried by their followers has to be the word of God and sud be treated with the same respect which is accorded to the Quran. This was the custom followed by the Prophet and his companions, sadly this tolerance was lost somewhere in the battle of political hegemony between Christian and Muslim rulers of 12th century.
Principle of respecting religious sensitivities has been violated by US interrogators, it needs to be condemned by civilized society, but this business of going around burning property and killing ppl, that is not acceptable by any religious or moral standard.
