Very sad incident indeed. I think the lady forgot that she was no longer in Dubai when she allegedly started to confront the drunkard son of Ayaz Amir over money. People who live abroad do not realize how violent Pakistani society has become and how so many couldn’t care less about the consequences whatsoever. This particular case got extra attention in the media due to the involvement of Ayaz Amir’s name, Canadian embassy and the victim being a woman. Otherwise, serious bodily injury or death over merely few thousand rupees is quite common in Pakistan. I got a wake up call myself regarding that when PIA employees attacked me at their headquarters, and my passport barely survived in the process. There are just so many incidents of violence that happen every day. Yet people forget to change their gears once they’ve landed in Pakistan.

I don't think Ayaz Ameer deserves to be blamed here, rather he did what few other fathers would be able to do who have a son like that. Sarah's family sources have revealed that Ayaz Ameer actually warned Sarah about getting married to his son due to his habit of drugs, but Sarah wanted to save the proverbial damsel in distress. Sarah knew a little bit about Shahnawaz since childhood as they went to the same school in Islamabad. Little did Sarah knew that for drunkard Shahnawaz, it was all about money !

The mentality of Shahnawaz is so common in our society, that is, keeping an eye on others' pocket, and constantly thinking about moving money from someone else's pocket into one's own.
Since establishment has to settle score with Ayaz Ameer so I don't think he will be freed any time soon though.
