Sending out the laundry

One thing I treat myself to is sending out my hubby’s work clothes for washing and ironing. I found a service that comes to pick up and they deliver it all nicely pressed within a day or 2.

I was just remembering today about last year when I had first started using this lovely service…I didnt have one of those official “laundry” bags so I gathered up all the clothes and put them in a garbage bag and put it outside for pickup.

WELL. It was garbage day. My ever-vigilant garbage men saw a garbage bag in front of my porch and tossed it into their truck. This wasnt realized till a few hours later, when mr laundry-pickup-man rang my bell to ask for the laundry.

New wardrobe for hubby:(

Re: Sending out the laundry

i know it sounds sad but i quite like doing the washing and ironing....however i think now and again i wuldnt mind having d luxury of getting things done by others, specially when im getting stressed...

Re: Sending out the laundry

sorry but thats funny :cb: This aunty I know put all her clothes in a black garbage bag when shifting residences and her sons threw them away thinking they were full of garbage

The laundry pick and drop svc is definitely convenient esp with 3 young ones on ur hands. If its only washing and drying thats doable but the ironing would be the problem. Good decision :k:

Re: Sending out the laundry

I personally quite like ironing (at the moment!)...I find it quite relaxing ironing in front of the telly...I just adjust the ironing board to sit down level and away I go!

How sad am I? I also find washing up quite therapeutic.........and don't get me started on pegging out the washing - everything has to be pegged together ie suits etc all in a row!!!!!

I need to get a life!

Re: Sending out the laundry

lol, ms wannabe! Yes, ironing is a quite relaxing task...but one that cannot be done with any kind of serenity with wild indians running around! The crease in my hubby's pants would end up quite in the wrong place and I'd iron in creases that were not meant to be there lol!

I do so wish for you this kind of craziness. And once you attain it, I ALSO wish for you a laundry service!

Re: Sending out the laundry

looks like u and i share a couple of things in common...

Re: Sending out the laundry

Ameen…
Actually I have seen a car/van driving round our area advertising it’s laundry/washing service - it’s called Molly Maid…better note the number down for future use Insha Allah:blush:

Re: Sending out the laundry

:cu2:
Glad that I am not alone in this madness!

Re: Sending out the laundry

I have been looking for a cleaning lady that will do this and clean my house for me. All the workers I've found will do this but not that....or will do that but not this...

Someone find me a service!!

Re: Sending out the laundry

I think the best thing to do is look in your local "Pennysaver" or local paper under "Household help"....there are usually people in there who want to work but do not want to have their earnings cut by those services like "Molly Maids" (those nationwide services). Although the services are bonded and insured and all that, they DO take a cut and they also have a set routine of tasks that their people will perform. WHen you hire privately, you tend to get people who REALLY need and want the job, will do the things you WANT them to do etc. So unless you have priceless antiques and such, its usually better to find someone on their own who wants the work.

check your local http://www.craigslist.org

Re: Sending out the laundry

lmaaaaooooo..:rotfl:..ok sryy but thas funnnnny baji

serious now
very sad

Re: Sending out the laundry

I wonder if it was your “hubby with SO old cloths” than your “ever-vigilant garbage man”

Re: Sending out the laundry

I can not begin to tell how much I hate ironing.
But the good thing is I don't let it pile up anymore.
It doesn't take me that long to finish a basket now.

Washing on the other hand is not a problem at all.
All you gotta do is throw in the clothes, add detergent
and push some buttons.

Re: Sending out the laundry

lol that is funny...

by the way your garbage man is really nice that he came to the door, we can only dream of that .....

Re: Sending out the laundry

that is funny:D
anyways i like to do ironing and i am addicted to it. i do like laundry its easy.

Re: Sending out the laundry

i hate ironing and i let all my clothes pile up like hell. when it gets really bad i get some ironing lady in to clear up everything :D
but strangely i found ironing therapeutic tdy... and then i came across this thread. god's way of making me feel better maybe?

Re: Sending out the laundry

That is too funny! The last time we moved my husband threw out some bedding that I had put in trash bags. :(

The laundry service is a godsend though. With 4 kids, I have too much laundry without having to worry about ironing my husband's pants and shirts too. I wish I could find someone to come in and do the heavy cleaning a couple of times a month too.
