What are some reliable and cheap ways to send to Pakistan that you guys use?
Re: Sending money to Pakistan
Send yr money with some one going to pakistan for a visit :D
The most reliable and cheapest way IMHO:)
Re: Sending money to Pakistan
depends how much you want to send ![]()
For US$1-1000 any friend/relative going to Pakistan will be the cheapest way, otherwise go for Citibank, costs only $40 for a wire transfer :k: (you have to have an account at Citi though)
Re: Sending money to Pakistan
western union

Re: Sending money to Pakistan
western union is SO expensive. and no, there's noone going who can take the money with them :(
Re: Sending money to Pakistan

Western Union could be the fastest but not cheapest for sure ....
You pay service charges here then you loose bit of more money as WU's offered rate is always less then pakistani open market rate ..
Then againts the grain .. U got paid in Pakistan rupees :D
Re: Sending money to Pakistan
Go to www.ubl.com.pk and use their Click N Remit service. I have been using it since 2005. Very quick and reliable. :k: The fastest way to send it is to deposit it directly to the beneficiary’s account.
See FAQ’s at: https://remit.ublny.com/info_faq.php
Re: Sending money to Pakistan
^ come onnnnnnnn, u must b kiddin m na. dun call it quick @least, It takes @least 7 days if ur beneficiary’s account in PK is with sum other bank then ubl. It’s free tho n then as u send money regularly, after sum time they increase ur limits n u can even send more then 10,000 $ per day. Plus u also feel good dat u became a part of da booming economy in pakistan ![]()
With western union the money reaches instantly but they charge alot n then sum friends have complained dat their transactions are rejected if they are in excess of 5000$, sum thin related 2 homeland security chk, they’ll b even callin n askin abt the source or recepient of the amount in case it’s 4 terrorism related activities

lets c .. if our Amount to send is € 100.00 .. then the Money transfer fee would be € 13.80 so it comes up to , our Total estimated amount gona be € 113.80
Then on Wu's website ... Estimated exchange rate 1 Euro = 96.0471834 Pakistani Rupee
where according to Khanani and Kalia International (Pvt.) Ltd... Today's open market buying euro rate is 99.4
ya can do your maths now :D
Re: Sending money to Pakistan
I have sent using Western Union, I find it to be the easiest way for me
Re: Sending money to Pakistan
Western Union & Money Gram is the best option for me. Been using it for years and they only charge $10 (if the amount is $500 or less). Your friend/relative gets the same amount from the agent's office in Pakistan and they don't have to pay anything in Pakistan, neither do they get less amount than what they are supposed to.
Re: Sending money to Pakistan
I have also been using UBL's remit home site it work great. Fast service and very reliable.
Re: Sending money to Pakistan
Western Union is expensive only if you use website or phone ..
Go to your local Rite Aid Pharmacy and use thier Counter Service .. Its damn cheap
Re: Sending money to Pakistan
I used Western Union last year to send some money to India, I hope that rates are same for Pakistan
For 800 dollars, I paid 20
for 500 dollars, I paid 17
I think that is pretty fair fee

Really- how cheap?
Yes TLK can you please let us know how cheap , I send money home every month. UBL does not charge anything for sending $300 or above. For less than three hundred they charge 5 dollars.
For sending money to India I use ICICI bank and they charge 2 dollars for 100 dollars I send for my data entry people in India.
Re: Sending money to Pakistan
Point well taken Mirch ..
see, not everyone has access to ICICI or UBL .. I dont ..
for me, affordablity is the combination of less expensive plus more convenient ..
Western Union is very convenient for me
but if Shay can use UBL, nothing better than that.
does she need to open an account in UBL

Service charges are same for Phone , website and Counter yokes .... And I don’t think in India ya got paid in Dollars ... did Ya ?
SO they offer you their own currency transfer rate , more or less same as Inter bank rate , which is bit less then Open market rate and that’s how they make and you lose money ...
Lets say if ya are losing 2 rupees on a dollar /pound .. for a 1,000 bucks transactions it becomes couple of Grand …
I better donate this money to a charity rather then throwing it in Wu’s account ..
Re: Sending money to Pakistan
It is all online both for ICICI bank and for UBL , you link your bank account or do a one time deal . You do not have to open an an account with UBL or ICICI .
