Sending Cell Phones to Pakistan

Mobilnk operates at a frequency of 900/1800Mhz

There are two phones that I am sending…

One of them is Tri-band (850, 1800, 1900 MHz)

The other is Tri-band (900, 1800, 1900 MHz)

Will they work in Pakistan?

Re: Sending Cell Phones to Pakistan

from "what" u tell us, yes.

BUT AGAIN, as u know it, they would have to be unlocked, in order to work other than the provider u bought them with .. (unless u bought them AS unbranded) (which is lately becoming a trend now)

btw,... make and models?

Re: Sending Cell Phones to Pakistan

faiizy bhai, I am pretty sure they are not locked (its just the operating frequency I was worried about), as they are the ones that you can purchase from third party sites and use them with any provider like tmobile or cingular. One of them is a nokia and the other is a siemens, not sure of the model number though.

Re: Sending Cell Phones to Pakistan

GSM 900 and 1800 dual band should work in Pakistan. 1900 hundred is only needed in American networks.

Re: Sending Cell Phones to Pakistan

If I am not wrong apart from Ufone all other operators are GSM 900/1800 in Pakistan. All european phones work in Pakistan. Only Triband GSM phones (900/1800/1900) from North America work in Pakistan GSM 850 wont work in PK.

Re: Sending Cell Phones to Pakistan

But najim, its 900/1800, so the 1800 should operate with mobilink right?

Re: Sending Cell Phones to Pakistan

^ technically it should work with mobilink.

Re: Sending Cell Phones to Pakistan

surely if its 850/1800 GSM. It should work with mobilink in Pakistan, isue is that the band switching wont work & it would only stick to 1800. But ya it will work.

BTW, just came into my knowledge that mobilink has created a bug in its network, so its users cannot call the Warid number easily. Mobilink users are getting network busy errors when calling Warid.

Warid is offering best post paid packages in Pakistan at the moment, as lower as Rs 150 PM line rent with 60 minutes free & free Answer-phone/voicemail service.
