Senate polls on March 2: ECPElection Commission of Pakistan has announced that Senate polls would be held on March 2.

**According to sources, the ECP has declared that candidates may submit their nomination papers till February 14.
These elections would be contested for 54 seats.
According to the Constitution, the Senate is a permanent institution for which 1/3 memebrs are elected after every new tenure.
**The opposition parties have been considering resigning from the National Assemblies as a way to delay Senate elections and deny the PPP a change to post majority.
**
