جنرل نشستوں پر محسن عزیز،شبلی فراز،فضل محمدخان اور سلمان زیدی جبکہ اقلیتی نشست کیلئے جان کیتھر اور روی کمار کوٹکٹ دیاگیا Mother of PTI neglected again (she is from KPK)
^ So if he gives tickets to old names you will complain that whats different in PTI? its same as other parties giving tickets to old tested politicians. If they give ticket to new people you are complain that You have never heard their names....
Senate tickets are usually given to the senior workers , often those who can not win a MNA seat .
All senior and old workers of PTI are totally ignored and all important seats are occupied by Lotas
Big neccessity to have a senate in a country where one province so dominates things. Unfortuntately being a indirectly elected house there can be a lot of vote buying. It is worse in FATA because political partys were not allowed to operate and develop grassroots. Saying that it should be the role of the election commiission to act against vote selling.
I Know it is upper house, and have equal representation from all provinces, but after 18th amendment, when no one can go against the decision of party leadership, how come voting for the senator have any significance, i mean, the respective party leaders, based on their size in different provinces can nominate senator and thats about it..
why all this exercise?
Well, supposedly senate gives more voice to smaller provinces (or more money to the MNAs of smaller provinces).
I'd agree with you though. Senators should be elected directly by people, preferably on non-party basis.
Like I said earlier. I have been saying this consistently for 5 years. You just realized it now because it fits your exit from this thread.
You don't pay taxes. You don't do anything for Pakistan yet still demand services. At this stage I say make it 500 bucks per person for a vote. Make some money off the people that pay no taxes yet still demand special treatment. Ohhh just like NS and Zardari.
In suggested constitutional amendment, Whats the point of disqualifying member from membership if he/she votes against the party instructions?
Show of hands or writing the name on ballot, I understand. Yes party leaders have right to know who is not voting for party but that should not disqualify member. If that's they case, why bother? why have election anyway? Just ask party leaders, who will u vote for and allocate seats. Why waste time and money of Tax payers?
IMO, members should be free to vote to whoever they want to BUT voting should be open or else just discard the whole "election" drama and allocates Senate seats by ratio of members in NA/PA
This reminds me of the amendment that Nawaz Sharif brought in his previous era. Amendment that was presented and approved within a day (???) that almost made Nawaz Sharif "Ameer Al Momineen"
