not really well ya but after england I was supporting good football and I think I have seen better quality football and more exciting games .
I was expecting a lot more from world cup semifinalists..

More exciting? you need someone with CORN RERHI in the field? Or you were thinking that Usama Bin Laden give up and come in field and surrender?

Although England lost and thats where I only supported Germany

Honestly even if Holland doesn’t win, they’re absolute champions here for all of us supporters and will be recieved as champoins on Tuesday!

Also today's goal was a nice one.

Germans should have been out when they played against Ghana. That was a lucky goal.

I want to see open attacking football which presently only the Brazilians, Argentininas (ok they defended shambolically against Germany cf. England) and Germans (ok they were not at their best today) are good at

Do you remember the 1990 World Cup Hocke Final match between Pakistan and Holland in Lahore which we lost 1-3. Pakistan lost despite playing beautiful attacking hockey and dominating play. Almost 70% of the game was played in the dutch half but Shahbaz and co. somehow just could not penetrate their defence. Bovelander on the otherhand scored all three goals on penalty corners.

So as far as I am concerned scoring goals thru:

• penalty corners in hockey or
• corners, free-kicks or headers etc. in football

(ok it does require skill but it) is like entering the room thru a back door :)

GoldenAsif: Germany did not get over awed. Their counter attacking style was never going to work against Spain.. they knew that and hence decided to defend in numbers.

Teams defend with 10 players against Spain! because Spanish are best in possession football.. just like Barcelona and they play with one mentality, to score goals all the time and they will pass all day if other teams will defend.

And for your enlightenment, go watch iniesta's goal against Chile or Villa's goal against Paraguay. Those were two breathtaking goals with excellent passing and movement.

I think the other team also have same options in game. You can only say this if these option were forbidden to them (somehow).

As said My First fav team was Argentina and 2nd was Spain from start of the WC.

They really trashed Argentina but you know what happened with Argentina after Germany scored first goal, they lost their hopes and their will to score.

comparing hockey with Football? oh My God! penalty corners and football set pieces? dude, two entirely different fields, two entirely different skills!

you need to watch some matches of La Liga, Bundes Liga next season to learn some basics about football!

If opposing teams are defending with 10 players against a team, (just like teams have done against Spain), you cannot hope to win with 5 goals marginIf they wanted to beat Spain, they should have attacked them from the start just like Spain attacks opposing teams relentlessly!

I think its hard to convince blinded south american football fans who do not appreciate total football!

so i will just go and rejoice a deserved spanish victory who refused to stop attacking amidst continuous defending by opposing team.

Villa’s goal against Paraguay was not breath-taking, he scored off own rebound. It was n’t the result of some individual brilliant move..

did you even notice or watch the excellent passing move leading up to the rebound? you only like to see the finishing touch on the goal..

I agree. Hence Brazil have won the most world cups (5) ;) And literally it is just two South American teams (Brazil and Argentina) taking on the whole of Europe
