Great game? Portugal had all the possession but you have to actually do something with the ball because possession alone cannot win you matches (as spain found out the hard way against france)
IMO, Portugal never really looked like scoring. They lacked ANY creativity in the final third (which is a surprise considering players like Figo, Deco, Ronaldo and Simao). They relied heavily on long range efforts. Thats not well played, thats one dimensional. I like the portuguese team in euro 2004. They were stylish, technical and creative. Altho they reached semis this time around, they were one dimensional, whiners and divers.

thankyou france you making my day....i think the more decent team won..but france did'nt look convincing in the second half..they could'nt keep possession and were not able to push forward...zidane,ribery,viera were tired in the legs..may be they are getting a bit old after all...and barthez was nervous..france gotta be careful against italy as italy showed in that match against germany that they are super fit and can keep running up and down the field even after 90 mins.

Thats true..I meant they were great in midfield.Definitly they were not creative in box and paid for it. Neverthless it was entertainign game. I liked the way they attacked and tried to score. Ofcourse their best was not good enough

guys, Zidane is destined to win this WC.
He didn’t have his best match, but after his performance against Brazil it was alsmost impossible to emulate that.
France were in control throughout the game although I had hoped they would attack a bit more. Portugal tried everything to get back, but they just did not have enough class for that. Moreover, they were trying too hard acting than to score goals and therefore France are the deserved winners :k:

Barthez for a minute was playing volleyball. He did give a good lift for Figo and Figo did well to smash it over the net.:).
Both should be made to play volleyball here after and make a good team.
