Selling Your Bridal Wear

How much do you think an outfit devalues after being worn once for several hours?
Let’s say you purchase your wedding lehnga for US$2000…how much do you think it should sell for?

Re: Selling Your Bridal Wear

$1500 may be

Re: Selling Your Bridal Wear

wow.....that's not much of a decrease......
I don't think that I would be inclined to purchase something worn for only a $500 discount. For me it would have to be at least half the price to be worth it, otherwise I would just pay the extra $500 and get my own new one in a custom colour/design/fit, etc.

^ Exactly... why not add another $500 & buy a brand new one. I personally wouldn't a penny more than 1/2 of the oroginal price for a used outfit.

Re: Selling Your Bridal Wear

From the buyer's perspective, I would want it at 50% or less because someone else wore it "ewww" and well you only get married once and shouldn't everything be like you imagined, etc...

If you're the seller, you think that "hey, I just wore this for a few hours, it looks great and a 25% discount is sufficient". They're getting more bang for their buck.

Re: Selling Your Bridal Wear

at least 50%.

Hell, if I'm paying even $1000, I'd get something brand new in that budget.

but just like some people are against designer stuff vs knockoffs, I have kind of similar feelings about buying used. (unless it's a car...then used is OK).

Re: Selling Your Bridal Wear

I'd probably not get this expensive of an outfit so that I could keep it and not have to sell. Realistically a bridal dress which has been worn is a real hard sell for many reasons. Primarily when someone starts thinking about selling, its generally not in the first year and after 1 or 2 years the fashion changes anyway.

Re: Selling Your Bridal Wear

good point Eastern......I have always wondered why people spend so much if they can't hold onto the article of clothing but I guess some folks may face unforeseen circumstances but that's another story.

Re: Selling Your Bridal Wear

I would rather get a bridal outfit for $500 than buy a used one. And I would never sell my bridal outfit, it would have too much of a sentimental value.

And I agree with Eastern.

Can you honestly buy a wedding dress for $500? Because I have no relatives in the motherland, I had to rely on eye gouging prices here.

Re: Selling Your Bridal Wear

Yes you can. A lighter version of designer's replica or some off the shelf dresses.
