Folks…i need to know how we can sell something online …is it safe …??n if it is then which site u will recommend…???
have u personally sold anything …??? do i need to learn some tricks about it or it is just fine…???
i’m a beginner so really confused…!!
i’ll appreciate any tips /advices etc.

If its a car then i see no problem, i personally haven’t sold anything online but then i never needed to till yet but if i ever have to i would do it. I know thet ebay http://www.ebay.de/ is a good site to sell or buy things of all kinds.

i have many things like decoration pieces...n some sports items etc.
n right now the problem at ebay is as soon as i sign in i get to see the german version which i dont understand ........so problem at the very beginning.....!!!
anyone with any useful tips.....???
may be there is something not even an issue for u but u see ihave literally nooo experience of buying or selling .......n i'm quite nervous about this online world of business....!!

Afia, there is an english version of ebay. http://www.ebay.com/ but this may only be for the states, unless u know a way of sending your items across the atlantic. 
hey if u need help translating the descripition into german, we can surely help u here.
you don’t need to be scared of selling online, basically its the same as selling offline, but the only difference u can do it by sitting in your house, very pratical !

If you are in the USA, try http://www.ebay.com
If you are in the UK, try http://www.ebay.co.uk
Even if you are in mainland Europe, you can use the UK site to sell. It’s just that at the UK sire, you’ll find mainly UK based customers which will add to the cost of posting the goods to them
the problem is …i go to ebay.com…but after signing in its automatically changed in german …perhaps coz my address is in germany …though not sure…!!!
i’m not even sure wat r the requirements to fulfill while u r in this business
if i choose to do a business there …should i inform the govt. here or should i pay some taxes etc. …n do i need to maintain my books in that case…???

If you do get the german version loading up automatically, you are correct, they are detecting (probably from your IP address) that you are in Germany and are automatically redirecting you.
The thing to do is, once the German site loads,
scroll down to the bottom of the page. Near the bottom, on the left and side, you should see a subsection of the page marked "Weltweit Handeln"
Once there, click on either "Großbritannien" or "USA" to go to an english language page"

Inshallah this will help you. To the best of my knowledge, there are no special legal requirements whilst selling through ebay. My brother here in the UK has bought items from people in Germany, and there was no additional legal actions required.

actually on whichever version i choose to click on "sell" it asks me for user id n after this its again in german ......
on uk site i even made another account without entering my city or address but it told me u r already registered .....:O

They have a single common database of user accounts and email addresses, I think. What you need to do is make a new user account that has both a different username from before, and a different e-mail account than before.
Im guessing you signed up from the link sadi posted. And now when you go into any ebay site, it thinks you are from germany (because you signed up from the german site)

did you give ur credit card info with the first reg? if so i recommend you DONT get a new login.
i havent been to ebay for ages. but they must have an options area or "my account" area. go into that and look for a language option.

I often sell stuff on ebay. I have never had a problem with it. You will have to create a detailed description of your product and make sure there are pictures as people like pictures. Make sure you provide a valid email address as a lot of people will email to ask questions. You can set your auctions for as many days as you want. (7 is a good #). Ebay will charge you a fee for putting up your auction. Once the auction ends, the buyer will have to send you money. I use paypal. you will have to apply for an account at paypal.com, also you need a checking account and guess what?? paypal charges you too!!! yeah i know it sux. you end up paying about $10 for everything. there are a lot of other little things too, but i think this is enough info for now, i hope this has helped.
