I don't think self-criticism is a reliable tool for improvement. Always good to self-analyse, but there has to be a point to it.

i never do self criticism but i do critical self evaluation regularly...it's a positive thing to do...it gives you a chance to reflect upon your shortcomings and weaknesses and let's you strengthen yourself :)
