A look at the stats shows the Sehwag has been dismissed 60 times in 65 innings. He has been dismissed most by McGrath (4), followed by Shane Bond (3), Dillon (3), Hoggard (3), Tuffey (3). Both Sami and Shoaib have taken his wicket twice.
Most of his dismissals (87%) have been to right arm bowlers and 80% to pace bowlers. Interestingly, the fielder with most catches against Sehwag is Kamran Akmal (4), followed by Gilchrist (3).
Finally, in his career, he has 12 bowled, 26 catches by fielder, 9 catches by a wicket keeper, and 10 lbw’s.
Add it all up and what do you get? First of all, line, length consistency is a must. Second, choose as many right arm pacers as your lineup can allow and attack. And then, of course, pray.
I think Inzi made it even simpler yesterday. He said we’ll stop his flow of runs, and he will get impatient and gift his wicket away. He ducks the bouncers, we all know that. Bodyline is the way to go!
I don’t think two beemers in an over will get you suspended. First beemer will get you a warning. Second beemer will get you suspended for the rest of the innings. But they don’t have to be in the same over. It can be any time during the innings.
Bowling short-pitched body-line bouncers, are the way to go. :k:
going by Tum's analysis, the more natural conclusion would be for Pak to hire McGrath and Bond and make sure them and everyone else bowl with their right hand.
Also, if he was out 60 times and 12 bowled, 35 caught and 10lbw, what happened to other 3? run out ?
Finally, as long as he gets out after scoring a double or triple century, you do whatever analysis of his outs....or eat peanuts...or watch cosby
I remember Waqar Younis, close to his retirement, throwing 2 beemers at some Australian batsmen, I think, in one over, consecutively. That got him suspended from bowling in that match.
Sehwag has a great eye and NO Foot work! in fact it is soo bad that it is embarrassing for classy players to watch. Those who disagree..watch closely in the second test.
A lot of desi players are guilty of that, but since Sehwag is aggressive too..any movement of the pitch should give him trouble. I'm not surprised he gets out caught behind on out swing bowling.
Amir Sohail was very similar..no foot work..great hand eye coordination.
Dont make a Bradman out of this poor guy :). He's not there yet.
All right arm bowlers just to get one batsman out ;).
Looks like Sehwag owns the Pakistani bowlers (atleast the fans) more than Afridi owns Indian bowlers.
Stemming the flow of runs and inducing/waiting for a mistake from him is the best way to get him out. That said, he has started developing the patience that is needed for test cricket (only in the 1st innings though) and does not get satiated with a 50 or a 100. Ye dil maange moreeeeeeeeeeeee.......
inzamam doesent have a great cricketing brain when it comes to imagination in captaincy, i would tell shoaib to go round the wicket and target his rib cage and have a short fine leg in place!
