Sehri is the only breakfast i ever eat in the whole year due to the childhood fear of falling down on some stairs or ground..somehow since my childhood until now i can only eat paratha/salan or paratha/omelette. Roti or bread doesn't last long for me somehow.
i am not very picky about what i eat...soo 6-7 boiled eggs work for me..with a glass of water/herbal tea (not doodh pati)/juice..if you really want a quick sehri you can boil the eggs the night before each sehri. :-)
I'm too sleepy to wake up in sehries but usually when I do manage to wake up I mostly just drink a glass of water or eat leftover food from lastnight. :)
^haha..i usually have some fruit and a glass of milk as i feel too lazy to make anything that early in the morning.
Funny thing is I don't really get hungry, and for iftar I have something very light, so i can either go running or biking, and once I am done with workout, I have a wholesome meal, and some coffee. Then i keep munching till late at night which is usually 1-2 am while i am working from home..so it works out well even if I don't eat much for sehari..
I cannot go back to sleep once I up, so when I do manage to wake up for sehri, then it's usually a glass of soy milk or some green tea and a couple of cookies. Lucky for me I don't crave food all day, and when I do, I just look up some recipes for dinner :D
For iftar I eat something light, dinner an hour or so later, and a "midnight snack" before I go to bed. But that's not restricted to Ramadan :D
I've lost 8 lbs already!! And I didn't even go to the gym much.
I've noticed I feel much hungrier during the day if I overeat at Sehri. I used to do that a few years ago. Now I eat like I would for breakfast any other day of the year. Sometimes I will have a bowl of cereal, sometimes a couple of waffles. Today I had half a paratha with scrambled egg and jam and tea. As for everyone else at home...the ladies have one paratha with saalan/egg and the guys between 1.5 and 2.

This is so true!. For the past couple of sehris I am only eating Frosted Flakes cereal and a cup of tea and may be a glass of water and I feel so much better during the day.
Yes Rukhsar. Usually mum used to make them but this year us girls have decided to give her a break. So my sister and I get up for sehri and make fresh parathas everyday!
I said half a paratha!!! And I make them everyday but don;t eat them everyday. You conveniently skipped the part about cereal and waffles!!! You grumpy primary school teacher who checks an assignment to look for mistakes only
this is the very first time in my life that I am making parowthas for the sehri diligently. Fe Fe, since ammi doesn’t feel the same anymore, I thought I should give her some rest and see if my pampered self can do something worthwhile.
So parathas rule and if ever you don’t feel like making them, you can always get those already cooked Dawn kay parothay.
Waisay FG, thats so true, the lighter the sehri, the better you feel but I can’t help it somehow What I do though is that I just eat iftari and skip dinner everyday just to mitigate the effects of that ghee and oil intake.
Minervee, 'Parowthas'? Shukker hay paraaNthay nahee bola.
Waisay, I am a little hungry right now. I am gonna go to Shahi Nehari in Lombard for iftaar. Those of you who are fortunate enough to have ARY/GEO must have seen an add of this restauRENT.
Why do desis say restauRENT?
FeeFee tay mooN, Wheatabix?. OK....I don't like those 3D hollow from inside cereals. I hope it's not like that.
