Little introduction.
Hearing:
Your ear has a layer its get effected by sound waves, it passes those signals and brain make it to noise/voice.
Seeing:
Your eyes get light waves then gets translated into meaning for brain.
Telescope:
We magnify light waves from were our eye can not see.
Xrays:
Little disturbance in xray waves translated to into picture.
**Ultrasound: **
We send waves in the body read them back and translate to picture.
RadioTelesclope:
Our eyes can not see.. ears can not hear. So we collect little waves from so far away, and translate into meanings.
Essentially underlying principle is some what the same at one level, which is making sense from data collected from sensors. Also its some what extension of our hearing and seeing to know things beyond our normal capacity.
Here is what I read last night, and I can not be more fascinated.

Translations:
; He is the One Who knows the secrets of the heavens and the earth; sharp is His sight and keen His hearing!
His [alone] is the knowledge of the hidden reality of the heavens and the earth: how well does He see and hear.
