Enough of Polygamy, temporary marriages and cheating wives threads. Cant you guys talk about some nice stuff? More than 75% of life is full of good stuff but we focus so much on negative (that also hypothetical) situations.
So lets talk about strength of the institution of marriage.
tell me for how long your parents or grand parents were/are married for? Highest number is going to get some eidi from me.
My parents were married for 32 years before my father passed away.

parents was 26 years this year (mashallah)
grandparents (mom's side) was maybe 4 or 5 decades before grandpa died. not sure exactly.
Dad's side was maybe 3.5 decades before grandpa died

my parents were married 30 yrs before my father passed away!
and i prefer more this seedhi saadfi shadi which is a sign of successfull life

My parents 24 years masAhllah! My Nana Nano were about 53 years together before Nana Abu passed away and my other grandparents were about in their 20's before my Daadi passed away/

My parents have been married for 43 years mashaAllah and still going strong!
They are very different in their personalities and styles but they look out for each other, stand by each other, have stood by each other through thick and thin, and are best friends to each other. What I've learned from their marriage is how 2 completely different people can strive towards a common goal and travel the journey of achieving that goal with simplicity and integrity, and in the end be happy and blessed.
