DARRA ADAMKHEL, March 17: Militants blew up the building of a girls’ high school in Akhurwal area of Darra Adamkhel on Sunday night.
Local people said the explosion completely destroyed the nine-room building.
They said the school administration had earlier received letters warning them to close the institution.
Handbills purportedly distributed by local militants two days ago again warned women to stop going to schools and** join seminaries**.
They also said that gunmen had resurfaced and increased their activities despite the presence of hundreds of army and paramilitary troops in the area.
They said the army had taken positions on hilltops and paramilitary troops were** patrolling the Indus Highway only during the daytime leaving the people at the mercy of militants at night.**
The militants have destroyed three security posts and a government school building over the past three days.
They continue to dominate the areas, paramilitary troops are only patrolling during daytime which again is a half-hearted security measure in my opinion. Why send some paramilitary troops if they are only going to secure area half the time? Is it only symoblic security?

I have heard from owners of mixed schools even in Islamabad and Karachi that they receive threats all the time to stop letting boys and girls study together - and I am talking about schools for kids!

Ok I don't understand - what exactly are they objecting to? Any (non-madarassa) schooling or just that girls shouldn't attend?
If latter, will they allow girls to attend madrassah schooling or even that is oob?
they just need an issue to object to. they have such issues about education in general , ebcos those who r eduated knw wht dumb**** they r, these ppl r just sick
