Hi Guys
I am thinking to take security+ certification. Any idea of how useful or useless it is? How much career scope it has? I am already CCNA.
Re: Security+ Certification
I think Ethical Hecker exam is more recognized in the industry. A way to check of a certification's demand is to search the job websites.
How many exams are in CCNA? One has to do CCNP first? Can you guide.
Re: Security+ Certification
Thanks. I would look into ethical hacker exam. In CCNA, it's upto you that how many exams you want to take. could be one or two but I prefer one exam. Once you are a qualified CCNA then you eligible to sit in CCNP exam that consist of four exams: Routing, switching, Remote access and Troubleshooting. There is no prerequisite for CCNA, though.
Re: Security+ Certification
Go for CISSP.
WiKi says about CISSP:
“Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is a vendor-neutral certification governed by the non-profit International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (commonly known as (ISC)²). The (ISC)² has certified over 49,000 information security professionals in more than 120 countries.[1] CISSP was the first certification to earn the ANSI accreditation to ISO/IEC Standard 17024:2003, a global benchmark for assessing and certifying personnel. It is formally approved by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) in both their Information Assurance Technical (IAT) and Managerial (IAM) categories.[2] The certification is also endorsed by the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) as the benchmark for information security[3]”

Good luck!
Re: Security+ Certification
Thanks Danday wala bahi sahib but I haven't got five years "Professional" experience in security as it is one of the prerequisite for the exam.
Re: Security+ Certification
My bad! You can still keep it as your goal after completing the basic certifications. ![]()
