I am thinking to bring my family (me and my wife) over to lahore. In your opinion which place in lahore is pretty safe and secure to live with a family. is gulberg better place?

yup gulberg is very good (though its kind of crowded coz of liberty market and all the restaurants but will depend on which area of gulberg u wanna move into)...others i'll say are
garden town
defence
cantt
eden villas-thoker niaz baig
wapda town
valancia society
plus a lot others
happing living in lahore

^ Try looking in Askari housing societies.. (they are gated communities). One Askari society is close to Kalma chowk and I am quite sure they have flats there. ..
In Lahore, is there any area in particular you are looking for?

I am living in defence for over a year now, I don;t know about other places but defence does have a few weak points.
For, example i stay in shadman and Canal View for weeks sometimes, i drive to Liberty and Johar town a lot, almost everyday and i never encounter any problem driving, but when i drive in defence those boys in new and posh cars follow your car like crazy, seems like they have no fear of anyone, even at day time on busy roads, they will follow your car, zig zag infront of you, make ugly isharey, and shout dirty things and no one will bother to stop and help you. And it happenes so often that i am sick of defence now.
However it never happens to me outside defence.
Second thing in defence is, well, i am leaving this house cause the people living upstairs and downstairs call prostitutes everynight at midnight, and whole neighbour knows it and talks about it and i feel unsafe living in this house anymore. so you know what i mean.
Heard it happens in every other house in defence, no wonder those boys have no fear of anyone.
And last thing is that since some of the politicians live in defence, there is too much traffic jam every other day.
I am looking for a place in Askari now, hope it turns out better than defence.

I will do. I would prefer to stay in the surroundings of ferozpur road and kalima chowk.

If you could find any home for rent in New Muslim Town, then it would be ideal. I really like it.
