I asked the HelpDesk, but they hide the fact that by saying ‘they didn’t come’. Though, the stall was there with all tags / numbers (closed with banners and no entry point).
KARACHI, Dec 7: A stall set up by the Iranian consulate at the Karachi International Book Fair in the Expo Centre has been closed after a religious organisation held a protest against the display of what it alleged controversial books.
ASWJ is gaining ground, its understandable that tolerance is decreasing as a consequence. The way things are going i don't think we can do anything about it in the foreseeable future.

How does ASWJ know about books before actual display? Angoor khatty hain...

The stall was at display for first two days... But again they don't sell controversial material, as people from all sects visit them. During last year's fair, the first stall I visited was 'Farhang e Iran' and I bought two books from them.
They allowed publishers from secular Turkey and India, but a publisher from Iran was not acceptable.
The majority of translated books were by communist writers from Russia, but they were being sold at many stalls. If there was a book that was controversial for them, it should have been named. Even 'My name is Malala' was being sold at Liberty Books, though they didn't display it properly
This is becoming very normal now a days. We will have to learn to live with this.
Well, I think we have to take stand against extremism of all kinds, especially religious extremism ... provided that we want to be called a civilized nation.
Our nation can do it. People just need to see that what is bad for one group today will be bad for them as well tomorrow. Extremism won't stop wherever we want it to be stopped. It will eventually engulf the whole nation.
So nip the evil in the bud.
Iran does not need stalls in a cultural show to propagate any religious literature. There is plenty, perhaps too much, already available everywhere in the country about every sect, every belief and lack of it. And if books are not enough then there is internet.
It was therefore obvious that ASWJ only did it to create trouble. And unfortunately succeeded in their hateful design.
The existence of ASWJ/Taliban/LJ/etc. is based on hatred. They know no compromise. Only way to stop them is through the use of force and total ban on their propagation activities in the country.
Public is attracted towards such stalls. Its good that people want to know about their religion and specially encouraging new generation to do research on their religion.
Moreover, 50% doesn’t mean that 50% stall were from religious books publishers. It means most of the stalls had religious books at their display. Like some publishers, were displaying books of others publishers offering lower discounts, whereas the original publishers in some other hall were given more discount on their own books.

ASWJ, aren't they Green turban (hari pagri walay)?
