I am a keeper ... alhamdullillah .... Not just friends even with people who dont get well along with me , I try not to give out their secrets that they would once have shared with me in good times. I learnt this from both my mother and my father and I feel its one of the biggest responsibilites one can have ...
Sharing a secret is an oxymoronic statement.
Better word is revealing a secret. 
Some people make everything secret, and on other extreme, some don’t keep even important information secret and talk too much without thinking.

I had like to believe that i am similar :D People tell me often how good n relaxed they feel after sharing their personal stuff with me cuz they know i wont give it away n that i only give them my most honest advice.

But i never share my secrets with anyone...not that i have any such serious ones but even if i had, i know i wont. I'm a very private person.

My experiences have made me choosy with my secrets. I've learned that you have to be careful about what you reveal and to whom.....and that it's naive to be too open with everyone. That some discrimination is better.
A secret is a secret when it's kept inside you........once you tell a person (even it's someone you trust such as a sibling or a best friend).........you are giving that person the power to do anything with the information you've disclosed to them. Relationships don't come with a guarantee and neither does human nature. The person you've told might reveal your secret out of spite......jealousy...................................or simply even by ACCIDENT.

What about people who tell u secrets and u discover the are compulsive liars?
I do keep all the secrets im told especially when im trusted not to say a word... but when i discover something fishy i lose respect and start blabbing out the lies im fed... I seem to be a magnet for those type of people quite alot coz im usually stupid, i dont question peoples stories and always give them the benefit of the doubt thinking there might be an explanation! AND THEN i discover the lies and get wound up at myself!
