Some women really aren’t too bothered if it’s ‘just’ an Islamic marriage rather than civil as well.. I’d have been suspicious of any guy who’s reluctant to have a civil marriage but I know of quite a few who think there’s no need..
A lot of the larger mosques in the UK now won’t do a nikkah without a civil certificate because this sort of thing keeps happening and there’s v.little protection for the wives involved..
