a man is responsible for his wife...and that also includes the responsibility to keep her happy. It is certainly required to have your wife's consent before you marry again.. for logical reasons (unfaithful character,lack of children, taking a widow as a wife)
after all..we all have to answer Allah on judgment day...and Allah nowhere suggests that it is ok to hurt your wife for the sake of your sexual desires.
