Also back to the topic, i guess a lot of couples i know have kept it low key the second time around because it was their own preferences, they dont want the dhoom damaka of tje whole weddings they had the first time, and a lot of them choose to spend their money on houses/holidays etc. The ones with kids I know have just made their kids part of the wedding, which is easier to do if it's a smaller thing.
Having said that, the ones who want a bigger wedding probably just want to celebrate their new start in life, again, nothing wrong with that because they can get everyone involved!

And now I get to tell you about my mum getting married earlier this year :D. She didn't have a mehndi because she didn't have the money for it and I didn't want to pitch in for the mehndi part. If only I hadn't just quit my job to start school full time.
She didn't have cash lying around for the wedding either so I offered to pitch in. I thought(still do) it was a good idea to select a decent venue even if we had to sacrifice on the number of people we could invite. People remember these kinda things and you don't wanna get taunted for having your wedding under a tent in front of your house. Her husband was balling, they had a great venue for the Walima and a lot of guests. We couldn't outdo them but like I said the venue wasn't bad.
I couldn't go to Pakistan to attend the wedding :(. Stupid reasons. But my sister attended the wedding and so did the groom's kids. I got to see the pictures though.
In other news my mum is putting on weight like crazy. I gotta go back soon and have a talk with her about that.
How did your mom and her new hubby meet? I'm just curious since she seems happy.
