So what do you give as a gift to a couple that are in their forties and starting a new life together?
Both are financially well-established so a cash gift is a bit awkward unless we are talking $500 or more…
Please also suggest something other than a gold item as it would be insignificant unless it is in the thousands of dollars…

Perhaps a donation receipt in their name and a small crystal item to keep would be a good idea.

yeah i see more and more people writing on the wedding cards something along the lines of all monetary gifts will be given to a charity. My BFF and her hubby gave their monetary gifts to a charity working for SWAT. That was nice of them. My hubby and I donated a huge chunk of our monetary gifts to the masjid - where we first met :). Also, people donated to this masjid on our behalf as well.
