because a woman cannot marry a father and a son (together or one after the other) that is why son of her husband and father of her husband are mehram to her (whether hubby is alive or dead).

Okay, for my edification, can a stepfather marry his stepdaughter (his wife’s daughter from a previous marriage)after his wife has passed away? I remember a really old Pakistani drama (maybe it was Khuda ki Basti, don’t remember) and the stepfather wanted to marry the stepdaughter.

And I promise, my intention is not to derail the thread or to bring in salacious questions, but these are just questions that came to me from the discussion.
