There’s a story behind this song. One of the group members (of “.38 Special”) wrote this song subsequent to something like this actually happening to him… He had cheated on his girlfriend/fiance, and tried to ask her to forgive him. i am not certain if she did. IF i had been her, i wouldn’t have given him a second chance but i would have forgiven him… everyone makes mistakes. Anyways, this song is so sad :frowning:

It’s been a while since I last heard this song. And boy do I rememer hearing it.My dad was this >< close to declaring this our national anthem thanks to my sis’s undying obsession with it.
