Second blow by Judiciary on Parliament

Why only the elected governments and mostly PPP governments are target of persecution by SC? I agree 100% last para of this letter with the author.

**The second blow
The Pakistan Today, Friday, June 22, 2012

During the 65-year long history of our country, the Parliament received its second big blow by judiciary on 19 June.

It is not true that all the decisions made by apex court were always right. We had example of Z A Bhutto’s vital case in which the verdict was given by 3-4 judges. Nonetheless, the deciding judge, Justice Naseem Hassan Shah, after many years of his verdict in an interview with Geo TV categorically said that had he wanted to save the life of Z A Bhutto, he could have done so but his advocate Yahya Bakhtiar annoyed the judges.

This is not the first example of its kind. In 1954, when late Chaudhry Malik Ghulam Mohammad was Governor General (GG), the Speaker of National Assembly Maulvi Tameezuddin challenged the dissolution of the Constituent Assembly by GG in the apex court but the then Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Justice Mohammad Munir, supported the decision of the
GG and thus the judiciary delivered its first blow on the sovereignty of the parliament.

It appears that the history has repeated itself in 2012 as the parliament has recently received its second blow by judiciary. Throughout the world, the parliament is supreme whereas the job of judiciary is only to explain the constitution, not challenge every decision of the govt.

Unfortunately, a group of people in Pakistan have always tried to prove judiciary as supreme against the parliament and they have unfortunately succeeded in their designs. This will have highly bad repercussions on the sovereignty of the parliament besides on the future of the country as it is bound to further weaken it.

re: Second blow by Judiciary on Parliament

err...the Parliament consists of convicted criminals. The Judiciary tries and sentences criminals. So whats wrong with this? Its all correct.

Re: Second blow by Judiciary on Parliament

Yes, the only thing stopping Pakistan to become a great country is SC not letting PPP do its work.

Re: Second blow by Judiciary on Parliament

I wonder why only so called convicted criminals belong to PPP only? Others are angels eh? Bhutto was convicted 3-4 split decision. After many years later Jusitice Naseem Hasan Shah who was in the panel of judges told Pakistani public that it was judicial murder. koi khuda ka khof hay ke nahin?

Re: Second blow by Judiciary on Parliament

Ask Zardari. He doesn't seem to have any sharam or khof.

Re: Second blow by Judiciary on Parliament

That's the problem. Why you drag Zardari in every thread to prove your point of argument?

Re: Second blow by Judiciary on Parliament

Yeah like one mardood ruled for 11 years and another dictator ruled for 10 year and brought Pakistan to new heights or should I say in deep sh!te:)

Re: Second blow by Judiciary on Parliament

sachaydino, bhi, is ko frame kerwa ker diwar per laga leen,

Re: Second blow by Judiciary on Parliament

Because he is the PPP.

Re: Second blow by Judiciary on Parliament

sometimes i wonder why did we have pakistan? may b ZAB was born late mistakenly otherwise he would have created a PPPistan instead of jinnah's pakistan.
its all fault of judiciary...journalists...military...x...y...z...

Re: Second blow by Judiciary on Parliament

LOL. Well said.

To answer the question: Why only the elected governments and mostly PPP governments are target of persecution by SC?

I would ask, why is a theif only convicted of stealing? Why not those who did not steal anything are guilty?

Re: Second blow by Judiciary on Parliament

Where is conviction? Link.

Re: Second blow by Judiciary on Parliament

Wow, nice try trying to equate moulvi tameezuddin to the current lot of zardaris, gillanis and et ceteras… :rotfl:

Re: Second blow by Judiciary on Parliament

Consult Pakistan Supreme Court for conviction which has convicted them of crimes with ample evidence at its hand. Funny you are asking for link.

Re: Second blow by Judiciary on Parliament

Boo motha lovin hoo! Cry us all a river, why dont you!!

This Govt. has been delivering blows to Pakistani Public infrastructure, basic necessities, economy, integrity, institutional standards for the past 4 years, but those cries of public were falling on deaf ears. Now that Judiciary (Guardians of Law and Justice) start to oust corrupt ex-PM and his cronies, all hell breaks loose?

Give us all a break. You've been sipping the Presidential kool-aid far too long. And guess what? No one's buying that ishh anymore.

Re: Second blow by Judiciary on Parliament

LOL@ Sovereignty of Parliament. The same sovereign parliament that's afraid to issue orders to PAF to stop illegal drone strikes? Or the same "sovereign" parliament that elected a retard (by definition, and conviction) as its President? Few years ago he was too unfit to stand trial for in Swiss courts, but fit enough to be President of a nuclear nation?

Wow...

Whatever it is that you're smoking, please stop. It's out to get the last neuron that's still functioning. There's still hope...

Re: Second blow by Judiciary on Parliament

This is the only justification I ever get from jiyalas. Corruption per PPP ka haq nahee hai????

Re: Second blow by Judiciary on Parliament

As if that's not bad enough, yesterday there were PPP and PML(N) spokespersons on Kashif Abbasi's talk show. Mohammad Malick asked them both to list just 3 qualities for their "expected" nominees on why they should be chosen.

You should've heard the pindrop silence out of the loudmouths. They have no merit to speak on, whatsoever. Just what you said "Other do, so we should be able to also..."

Very pathetic for both parties that claim to be the most popular.

Re: Second blow by Judiciary on Parliament

Very pathetic for both parties that are made to be so popular by the average Pakistani citizen. :hoonh: In many other countries both political parties (if you want to call them that) would have been history long ago.

Re: Second blow by Judiciary on Parliament

^^^^^Unfortunately the new party hijakced by now intelligence agency is also consist of baansi tukrhay from these parties. The super permanent lota leader talking about tsunami is kind of a retard and stupid, I wonder if he wins his own seat from his native village of mianwaali.
