Seattle, Washington

I’ll be in Seattle, Washington for a short business trip with a collegue of mine soon. I might have some time off for myself, so can anyone reccomend some cool places to go in Seattle, restaurants, museums, historic sites?

Thanks in advance

Ofcourse the landmark of the city is the Space Needle and there is a restaurant on top: SkyCity, you would prolly need to make a reservation there for the window seats. Quite an experience.

Just some additional trivia – parking meters do take Canadian quarters, and the buses in downtown are free.

If you are actually flying into Vancouver, you may want to take the Amtrak Cascades, the scenery is unforgettable. It may be America’s most civilized city, but may appear slightly unsanitary compared to Vancouver.

If time allows, a tour of Boeing in Everett should be educational.

Ah Seattle, Heaven on earth. The most beautiful city I have ever been to. If you are there on a short Visit try visiting Snoqualmie Falls, Space Needle,Pike Place.

If you are looking for natural beauty then Drive down to Leavenworth to enjoy an early German Christmas preparations in the shades of beautiful Mount Rainier or take a ferry to Whidbey Island.

space needle is a ripoff

If you have time, I would go outside the city to where the mountains are, like Mt. Baker, or Mt. St. Helens, or the Olympian range.

If you want to experience city life - i suggest hanging around the coffee shops, the resteraunts. I don't have my old maps with me, but the area along the water is really nice. Its nothing excitingly different though, honestly. I was pretty disappointed, but then again, we went to seattle after staying in Vancouver and hanging out around mountains for like 5 days.

Thanks everyone, I will take your suggestions into consideration. :)
