The close companions arranged for his (SAW) maqam to be set-up in his own house.
The Janaza is an interesting topic. From Sunnis it is clear that there was no official ijtimaie janaza people were coming reading privately and going away. According to Sunnis in a room full of people Sayyiduna Abu Bakr AsSiddique did an ijtimaie du'ah. According to Shi'a sources Imam Ali (AS) performed the janaza or was the first to perform it. So the answer to the questioner is there is conflict. Some weak narrations also say that angels did the Janaza ... Allahu'alim. It is quite possible that there were many 'janazas' but some take offence to this concept as it means asking for the maghfira of the deceased.Neither do we consider prophets deceased (tasted death yes, but not in a state of death) nor do we consider them in need of maghfira.
The prophet PBUH died as both a Victor of a campaign - conquering the hearts of men, a Martyr from poison, a beloved father natural and spiritual, in his city, in his home, with his close ones.
He (SAW) was concerned for our welfare right until the last moment. His only worry was not anything other than for our future safety in faith.

Salam How is this Bida asking How NABI PAAK (S.A.W) died its all written in Seerat books as for Zooran there was not a single janaza which took place
first angles came and performed Janaza Prayers and than Sahab used to go in groups and perform Janaza and Hazrat Ali and some other shabas lead the burial part
