just used some ubtan and felt my hands and nails went yellowish…
how abt if i use some scrub rather than ubtan…???
Haldi can stain u're hands/nails and face slightly yellow.. u can remove it easily with cottonwool soaked in any astringent/toner.
Re: scrub instead of Ubtan..
cotton soaked in lemon juice can remove stains too.
but wats ubtan used for??![]()
The haldi is actually good for your skin, according to ayurveda -- that's why it's in the formula. If you don't like it but would like something natural for a facial, try this:
Partially grind up some flax seed a little in a coffee/spice grinder. Zip an egg in the blender, and add about 2 teaspoons of bee pollen and then enough of the ground flax seed to make a loose-ish paste. Bind your hair up out of the way and slather this goo on your face. (Make sure your kids & husband are out of town -- this is seriously scary-looking!) Watch TV while it dries, and then wash it off with warm water. You can put in a drop of whatever attar you like, if you want.
Ubtan is a great exfoliant.. has moisturizing properties as well.. it gives a nice glow to u're face after a couple of applications..it also makes u're skin more even..
Re: scrub instead of Ubtan..
Gina: I need help.
First of all, I want to get a better complexion, what i mean is that my skin is a little un-even tone by the jaws/chin area....what is a better way to do this?
I went to a lady's house the other day for facial: She did an good/okay job.
then she gave me a cream to get a fair skin; which I thought was amazing (considering, that i'm getting married and inlaws/desis have this "fair craze" so I bought the cream, it was in a very small container (the one u get samsosa sauce in :D) for $15. When I smelled it, it reminded me of a cream very popular in pakistan, "Archie cream mixed with another cream"
Now, she said if it doesn't suit me i can return it back.
my question: Does Archie cause skin cancer? I heard that from someone? Is it safe?
I need HELP!!!!
I've been warning all of GS against that cream ever since I've joined :) that "miracle" cream that claims to make u fair does perm damage to u're skin.
Archie's
fair & lovely
Betnovate
retin-a
stillmans
mod girl bleach cream
ALL go into it..most of them contain steroids that thin-out the skin and give the illusion that u've become fairer..when all it is is tiny blood vessels visible from the surface of u're skin.
DO NOT apply this cream.. unless u want perm blotchy/black marks that no amount of micro-derm can correct. It destroys several layers of u're skin.. and u won't get the same texture back.
Try a couple home remedies in the Glowing Brides thread.. they take time but are effective.. u may also see u're derm and get a lightning gel.. such as HQ..
Re: scrub instead of Ubtan..
Thats what I was thinking, that why would I want to ruin my skin? I even asked her does this have long term effect? she's like "no" :) well ofcourse seh wants to sell out her products......
Yes, i'll check out the other thread
