Scots set 'world record' for number of skiers wearing kilts

**More than 500 skiers and snowboarders are expected to take part in an attempt to set the world record for the most people in kilts going down a piste.**CairnGorm Mountain, near Aviemore, hoped to get the participants to ski down in a line from the Ptarmigan Top Station.

Money raised from the event will go to charity and also a schools skiing programme.

Intermediate and advanced level skiers were sought for the attempt.

The record bid comes during the best ski season in Scotland since 2001, according to Ski-Scotland.

More snow has been forecast, meaning the season could last through to May.
