Has anyone use them in desi dishes?
You cant even chop them!!!
Re: Scotch bonnet
you can chop them but just have to wash everything carefully and well. they are quite similar to the bhut jolokia peppers that have gotten popular in india these days. i’ve used scotch-bonnet or habaneros it in desi dishes, it is very potent - you only need half or one pepper for the entire dish, and that is if you like it hot.
Re: Scotch bonnet
This looks like a yellow pepper I had at a Chinese household. Shape same.
Potent = potent ^ infinity
Re: Scotch bonnet
I use these in chicken karahi… usually about 3 or 4. I mostly deseed them and cut them into small pieces, and leave one whole with just the top and bottom cut off. Super spicy but soooo yummy. When eaten with rice and a little bIt of raita to offset the heat it is delish!
Re: Scotch bonnet
I have used habaneros but not the scotch bonnet…I should give these a try as well
Would love to throw one in for some peri peri chicken marinade ![]()
