Re: scope for psychologist?

Hi Fazeelat,
welcome to the forum.
Psychologists and psychiatrists both have wide scope in military services. Be it the Army, Air Force or Navy, they recruit qualified psychologists and psychiatrists as officers in the medical, education, legal, training, intelligence etc branches and their services are sought at every stage and every level and they serve as a very imp part of the institutions as a whole. To give you some idea few major areas where psychologists and psychiatrists play key roles are;
as selection officers they have a maor say in analysing the personalities and characters of all applicants and decide whther the would be suitable for military service. psycho analysis is a huge part of selectin procedures at all stages.
During training at all levels; at academies and later at higher command colleges these officers play a part in analysing the aptitudes and thus play a prt in the career shaping of the officers under their scrutiny. During training too i guess the must be holding some responsibility in the large picture towards making sure that the environment etc is fit to produce high quality officers with balanced characters etc.
Then ofcourse they serve as clinical therapists as well.
and if ned be their professional expertise could be used by their arm in any other reqd too. so it is a fun job by ll means and there are loads of women in this field serving as military officers.

If you plan on applying do go right ahead and do let us know how it comes.
Also contact your nearest selection centre for the Army/navy/PAF, whichever you prefer most.
Hope all this helps.
