I agree with you.
But above software are about numerics, so no one can verify their accuracy, really.
So in this case one being commercial is being used by more organization and have more exposure in real life situations. Plus they have modules for real life situations which might arise during the work.
Other then that reason OpenSource all the way. OpenSourse is what is going to change the world
