School yearbooks. What a waste. :bummer:

Re: School yearbooks. What a waste. :bummer:

well end of year ball really was a diff name for a prom. its really the same thing

Re: School yearbooks. What a waste. :bummer:

Yearbooks serve the same purpose as the photos you take of your friends and family. It’s definitely not a waste of paper - and most institutions nowadays have an option of a digital copy of the yearbook. However, this option isn’t as popular - with a real yearbook, you get people to sign and write comments on it which you can later look back at and enjoy.

I have all my yearbooks and so do my sisters - we look back at them and realise what kind of stages we went through growing up.

Btw, I have never heard of a uni yearbook.

Re: School yearbooks. What a waste. :bummer:

oh i didnt buy the yearbook, but i bought school ring though  thats high school.

Re: School yearbooks. What a waste. :bummer:

When i was a student, we did our own ‘Uni yearbook’ thing if you can call it that… a notebook per person, and you get people to sign it, write comments etc about your time together… put in pictures… i guess that is a yearbook :hmmm: but it would’ve been better if the institution did it for us :emmy:

PS: WTH is a school ring?? A ring you wear on your hand with the school logo on it??

Re: School yearbooks. What a waste. :bummer:

At the Universities I’ve been to… this was usually a departmental thing - usually organized by a student association within that specific department.

Re: School yearbooks. What a waste. :bummer:

yes maroush, school ring has school logo on it, your name, and graduation date..

10k gold…lol

Re: School yearbooks. What a waste. :bummer:

Yeah school ring, is a ring you get to pick out with the school logo on it, pick out your color, and it can also have your name & year of graduation..like class of 2009…etc…they were pretty neat and cool to get in high school, but college…i thought it was a waste of money. That much $$ I can get a nice pretty semi-precious ring

Re: School yearbooks. What a waste. :bummer:

^yep agree with u..i have high school ring

Re: School yearbooks. What a waste. :bummer:

wow.. i don’t even remember where i kept mine.. pretty useless, honestly.

as for the ring, i never bought one but i know my husband did in his junior year and he always wore it until mid-uni. couple of days after we got married, he gave it to me saying he wanted me to have his ring  it’s too big for me to wear though.

Re: School yearbooks. What a waste. :bummer:

^ :hayaa: Ok, are you kidding?? I just googled what they look like… it’s like something garish Mr T would wear!

Regardless of my opinion, it was still a nice gesture though from your hubby, Shay :@:

Re: School yearbooks. What a waste. :bummer:

Haha, no I am not kidding, maybe you just saw the ugly designs  There are a few designs you can choose from. Good thing his taste is good so the ring was so cute with his initials and grad date  It’s still too big for me to wear so I might as well make a pendant out of it.

Re: School yearbooks. What a waste. :bummer:

You’re right, they weren’t as popular in college as they were in high school. Seemed like everyone was dying to get the high school rings, it was the biggest excitement of becoming a junior. In college it was like, ehh whatever.
