You must have not gone through the U.S. education system where a great deal of time is spent educating and talking about the history of slavery and it's effects.
I have because I was born in the US. A lot of time is also taken dealing with the Holocaust. There are Holocaust museums in the US for a crime commited in Nazi Germany, why not even one US slavery museum?
