I think Aitchison is probably the best school for boys in this city. However admission is pretty hard.
Those of you who have experience with educating boys in this city, which school would you recommend and why. Not just pre-school years but also a school that goes till O and A levels.

I have done a lot of reserach on this issue, as we are planning to go back and settle in pakistan permanently by the end of this year. as far as the current ratings suggest. No. 1 is atchison but i have one issue with it, the day scholar age starts at the age between 5 and 6 before that people usually put their kids in some sort of acadmey to prepare for the entry test and interview. The test is suppsoed to be very competitive as in they put some object infront of the kids and ask them to write an essay on it. My problem with all this is if God Forbidden anyones kid doesnt get teh admission after the tests what would be the implications of this on him. A kid might start thinking that he is a failure and not good enough even at the very begining of his life. Parents put alot of pressure on this kids rushing them for one academy to another. I will have my kid give the test but i dont want him to think that only if atchison is the best.
the second school i liked is relatively new, The learning alliance, the preschool section is known as Lahore preschool. I have heard very good things about this school. They follow the western standards of quality education and learn through play rather than quantitative education that kids should know this know that etc. Most of the kids in lahore preschool end up in atchison. The best thing i like about is that they have a strict policy of no junk lunches in school. and even the cafe in school serves healthy lunches. and yes you are not suppsoed to give any money to kids rather you have to buy tickets for lunch your self and give to kids that they can use to buy lunch. The issue with this school is that all the kids are from the upper elite (admission fee is around 1 lac, and monthly fee is 14000 for pre K), My neice goes to this school and she was telling me about a birthday party of her friend where the goody bags were improted from dubai and even though i can carry out such stunts financially, i just dont want my kids to have such type of conciousness.
At third place is lahore grammer, if i want my kid to go to lahore grammer it would definately be some defence branch rather than any johar town branch.
then comes LACAS, city school, beaconhouse and KIMS.
All of these schools have almost the same fees. Just that atchison is a proper school rest are mostly in some houses or kothis meaning no proper play ground for kids.
and in all of these schools you will see kids in grade four having cell phones and thekids usually have a girl friend by garde 6. So in the end it is in which type of enviornment you want your kids to be. My husband is strongly in the favor of lahore preschool and then atchison. and i am in favor of plain old PAF school or army public school. Lets see who wins the battle.
