I'm sure there are many specially in christian bible belt ,there were couple of movies &t.v evangelism expose .Sometime it is legitimate to pay something for ppl. who do full time duty of running madrasah,orphanage ,but there is always a unscrupulous ones starting from politicians to doctors so some priest,holyman.moulana could be shady possibly.
It is good in Islam that so much of decentralization of authority or religion that one can make sure where there charities are spent unlike in big time organizations ,again most of them are christians.
