first of all, report it to the police. Second , get urself a good security alarm with remote start. That way you can start it up from your apartment , and it will turn off on its own after a set amount of time , i think.

So....apparently...they opened the car with a fake key!!
and same is the case with neighbour's car ......n there weren't just two of us to report it .... my three neighbours reperted a theft same day!!

I was wondering why the thieves decided to take our navigation system while the car parked next to us is brand new (a mercedes) and has the latest system ....turnd out their car can not be opened manually as it has only remote controlled lock system.

That's right, there really is no need to start your car at night, for the morning. It's not going to do anything. Besides, your car will start anyways, so you don't have to worry about it.
