makes you scared , yes , no , may be so ?
My boys love scary movies and are not scared at all. But my daughter gets so scary that she will not go the bathroom till someone is standing guard on the bathroom door although it is attached to her room after watching a scary scene in any movie.
One of my grown up friend and I watched a scary movie and he did not go to his home that night and slept in our guest room that night as his family was away and nobody was at his home. My nephew is also a grown up adult get scared after watching scary movie.
Is it a cultural difference that kids born and raised in West are not scared of scary movies after certain age and enjoy them. But desi grown up men do not get out of that phobia of scary creatures.
What do you say ?

after one iftar party+friends bithday 2 weeks ago
we sat their chatting all nite
around 3am started talking abt jinns etc
at 4 decided to go to our homes and bring some thing for sehry as the host’s fridge was empty
so me and friend jumped in my car came home took some stuff went back
one other friend went home alone in his car
came back and said
“kum bakhtoo, mujhay akela bhej diya tha, sare rastey main aitul qursy perhta reha hoon”

and i m having night mares for a month now 
i dont scare easily but still
those nightmares, i litrally start shouting and yelling for help while in my sleep 
i dont think it has anything to do with growing up in the west.my husband grew up here in pakistan he s not scared,while my brother who grew up in west is still scared of every clown he sees coz of this scary movie he saw way back.

I didn't know grown up men got scared after watching scary movies.
As for me, they don't scare me at all, or may be just a tinsy vinsy bit when I am alone.
I am not scared at all especially with jinn stories but some times hollywood movies gross me out when they are showing too much blood in movies like "SAW" parts or like "Joy Ride" I don' t exactly remember names but when you saw too many movies of that kind you cannot get them off your mind easily,they are creepy and you'll be watching blood and chaos in your dreams all the time. eww
Scary movies cannot scare me, u know why because i donot watch them....:D

even though i get really scared watching scary movies but i also love watching them
True true , it has nothing to do with where you were born or raised it depends how you were raised. If your family does not try to scare you as a child to make you do things and reassure you that there is no such thing as ghost or monsters those kids I guess are less likely to be scared of scary movies.
I too hate those movies which show too much blood in movies , they gross me out.
Hehe that is the best strategy , but the psychologist treat phobias by making you face your phobias.
I agree with your analysis completely but I do not understand the difference between the behavior of my boys and my girl. We never scared them with anything , instead we reassured them that there is no such thing as ghost or ghouls. My older boy is so brave that when we moved to our new home he selected guest room as his bedroom on the ground floor although the whole family sleeps upstairs in their own rooms , he is the only lonely soul downstairs and never scared. My little girl on the other hand will come to parents room’s bathroom to use it instead of using the common bathroom which is right next to her bed room.
