Scars!

Hello, can anybody pls advise me on what to use on my face for spots that leave scars on my face? Ppl say not to touch spots so i haven’t been doing but the spots still leave dark scars.

I have tried bio oil, it didnt help. my spots occure for various reasons, sumtimes if i eat anything even the slightest bit greasy ill get spots so i try avoiding them, or main reason i get spots is wen im menstruating. Its so annoying. I get both white head spots and also the ones that are realy big that u cant squeeze or do anything with. Both types leave scars.

Please tell me how i can get rid if the scaring. thank you.

Re: Scars!

spots as in acne? try pro active even if its not acne it'll help clear the marks

Re: Scars!

Thanx Jhanjariya, its not acne as such, cus its not loads n loads of tiny ones all over my face, its the odd two or three i get on my cheeks or chin. i knw two or three dont sound bad, but seriously the few i do get are big and the scars they leave are just horrible. Ill check out pro active tho see what it says on the packet. x

Re: Scars!

i totally know what u mean by the spots that you get on your cheeks, i have a few healing scars from them too :( . How long did you use the bio oil for ? i used bio oil 2 times a day every day for about 2 months for these old scars that i had and it worked really well alhamdulillah! I'm still using it, ive heard your supposed to use it for 3 months minimum to see proper results. Using a face scrub regularly can also help fade scars...

Have you tried PanOxyl for the spots that you get? I haven't tried it myself yet, but i've heard good things about it...

Re: Scars!

Erm ill b honest n say i didnt actually use the bio Oil for that long, see im really impatient in that if it dont work in a week ill give up.Its not gud i knw so maybe i will give it another go. Also No i've not tried PanOxyl ill luk into it. Thank you. Can i gt that here in the UK? think ill google it n see where i can get my hands on it. x

Re: Scars!

glycerine!
it works.

Re: Scars!

A peel or anything that exfoliates should make your scars disappear or at least fade faster (Retin-A, TCA/lactic/glycolic peel, laser, perhaps microdermabrasion - useless on me but has worked on others)..

Re: Scars!

Look into professional microderm and peel sessions, they have helped to dramatically soften the appearance of my scars. See a dermatologist because they can prescribe medications and treatments that penetrate the skin better than commerical products. If you're looking for something commercial....then try Mederma, but it will take several months to maybe even a year before you see a differences (depending upon how old the scars are)...and you have to apply the Mederma more than once I believe....it can make you itch a bit...and you HAVE to apply sunscreen at least 30 minutes before you go out in the sun when you're using Mederma...or the area of application will hyperpigment (become darker) on you. Even with microderm and peel and retin-A...(which are effective procedures)...they do tend to make your skin more sensitive to the sun, so wear your sunblock.
