Salicylic acid peel. Try Neutrogena's 'Acne Mark Fading Peel'.
Re: Scars and uneven skin tone??
get microdermabrasion done firstly from a qualified derma, this will get rid of the top most dead cell layer that is the main factor for giving that uneven look. After that, cleanse everyday with rosehip water and a good skin soothing cream like betnovate or savlon but just a pea sized amount. Try a night time acne mark fading gel like the one Clinique makes at night and during the day apply lemonjuice and ubtan reguarly.

Re: Scars and uneven skin tone??
SJ have u actually tried microdermabrasion? ive heard its really good but i saw someone that had it done and was left with a scab, is that common?
A scab is usually caused by a chemical/glycolic peel.. micro-derm is a fine exfoliant.

even before that your dermatologist will give you a routine like a facial wash or body cleanser to help stop the acne, there is no point in microdermabrasion if the acne is not controlled. normally you are not put on birth control or pills it'll just be topical creams or cleansers and a body lotion like aveeno's lines or aqua glycolic which helps remove layers of the skin gently and fade those scars. then you'll be allowed to go for the microdermabrasion and your dermatologist can find you a good one or one that works with your insurance if needed
