ISLAMABAD: The government is making preparations to summon the Supreme Court registrar to appear in parliament in a few days for contempt of parliament proceedings.
The sources said the registrar would have to face two types of action and the government has completed preliminary preparations in this regard. Law Minister Farooq H Naek had earlier indicated contempt of parliament proceedings would be taken against the Supreme Court registrar for writing what he termed an inappropriate and careless letter to the National Assembly speaker. The other action, meanwhile, is being prepared through the Public Accounts Committee.

It sounds so logical even to a law layman like me that once a verdict is delivered by court, attested copies of the verdict are sent to all concerned parties. I don't understand where does the issue of contempt of parliament comes from. But then this is PPP, expect the unexpected.

Trying VERYYYY hard to get the SC to grant martyrdom to the PPP. The SC did very well in its judgement. Very balanced, and the right thing to do at the right time. That is why PPP is trying hard hard hard to trigger something else. I hope the SC or army dont fall for it. Let the people vote them out.

PPP does not want to die a natural political death. Instead, they want political martyrdom to get votes for the next term. The opposition should be careful in its demands. They should clearly ask PPP to elect new premier so that there is no room for PPP to blame the opposition for conspiring against the system.
