ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court Thursday dismissed the last petition against President Musharraf’s eligibility to contest the presidential elections. The verdict came after a brief hearing of Dr. Zahoor Mehdi’s petition by the full bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Mr. Justice Abdul Hameed Doggar.
On Monday, the court had dismissed five petitions against President Musharraf’s nomination, including the challenges from the presidential candidate Justice (Rtd) Wajihuddin and Makhdoom Amin Fahim. Attorney General had earlier said that President Musharraf would quit his army post and take oath as civilian president as early as Saturday if the presidential re-election was approved by the apex court

Great News indeed. Long may President Musharaf continue as the leader of Pakistan, under whose rule Pakistan has seen Unprecedented Growth, Free Judiciary and Free media. :k:
Re: SC dismisses last petition against Musharraf’s eligibility
Indeed. It is worth noting that exactly half of the members the 10-member panel that dismissed all the petitions, are judges who were also on the pre-3rd November Supreme Court as well, which gives this judgement greater legitmacy. These judges are:-
The Honourable Mr. Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar, Chief Justice of Pakistan.
The Honourable Mr. Justice Muhammad Nawaz Abbasi.
The Honourable Mr. Justice Faqir Muhammad Khokhar.
The Honourable Mr. Justice M. Javed Buttar.
The Honourable Mr. Justice Saiyed Saeed Arshad.

This isnt a supreme court... Lets not honor this chamcha institute with the dictators chamchai sitting on the bench's with the title of "supreme court."
Let there be no doubt, that at this point, Pakistan has no Supreme Court, just a dictator and his henchmen...

God bless the honourable judges who don’t give interviews, don’t attend political rallies, don’t try to whip up the public sentiment against a sitting government and just dispense justice, as per their remit.

In 2000 ex-CJ Iftikhar was one of the judges who validated the military coup on the basis of "doctrine of necssity". So the present CJ and his judges are only following his great examples. :)
