Re: SC dismisses all petitions seeking PM Nawaz's disqualification
and thats why I said that my comments are not related to this specific case. I totally agree with the decision. Although the basis was right but court needs more than "basis" to give verdicts.
There is also something known as "trichotomy of power" where branches of govt are not suppose be involved in each others affairs. In this case, courts decision based on that principle alone is right. In other words, the SC could have said that we have no legal power to get involved in proceedings of the Parliament b/c Parliament is sovereign body.
Re: SC dismisses all petitions seeking PM Nawaz's disqualification
The courts are only independent if they give verdict according to PTI's liking. Otherwise, they are all sold out.
The reverse is true as well. I would like an independent judiciary which does not bow to any government including PTI's if they ever come to power. At the moment we are far from an independent judiciary.

Judiciary is at their best in the history of Pakistan but our system and environment is not supporting them .

Fair enough. However, every other political is like that, its not just PTI alone. Lets wait for PTI's stance on this judgement. On the side note, compare their decisions in relation to terror based activity cases. Why is the same so called honorary/impartial SC court ineffective when passing judgement on a high profile person/case or a terrorist? How many terrorists have been arrested and punished due to their judgement?
Re: SC dismisses all petitions seeking PM Nawaz's disqualification
The courts are only for the rich and waderas and looteras, not for the poor people.
How many of the poor people are around IK on top of the container? Majority of those people are waderas and looteras. Jehangir Tareen is an ex Mush's minister who is also head of sugar mafia & has been implicated in so many scandals. SMQ has been using is family names to defraud gullible people for ages. Is Sheik Rasheed example of clean and imaandaar person? IK himself isn't poor...his kids are studying in best British schools. If he wants to live by example...maybe he should bring his own kids an enroll them in public schools in Peshawar where PTI govt changing textbooks to make them more jihad friendly b/c God knows thats all we need.

Shamraz, do you believe that it is as easy for poor people to get "justice" from legal system in Pakistan as for the rich and powerful?

I dont know what your sources are, but Im pretty sure Pervez Rashid is one of them.
Back in 2010, the then PAC met under the chairmanship of Ch. Nisar, and while investigating sugar mafia, the committee concluded that only 2 sugar mill owners made timely payments to their farmers, and one of those 2 was Jehangir Tareen. He was lauded for his transparency, and efforts. But then in 2011, he joined PTI, and $hit has been hitting the fan since.
Someone like you should know that the comparison is not between rich and poor. Its between corrupt and clean. Imran made his money in a clean way, and if by honest practices, he became a rich man, that should not be an issue for anyone. I have yet to see anyone show corruption on behalf of Sh. Rashid or SMQ.
As for the original post, it is no surprise that all cases against PMLN get thrown out during PMLN tenure. The last time a court took a stand against the Sharifs, it ended up with PMLN attacking the supreme court. While this case may not have had a lot of merit, but to say that the SC should not interfere in what happens inside the parliament is tantamount to giving the parliamentarians a green light to commit whatever crimes they want under the guise of parliamentarians. No wonder nothign happened when Ch. Nisar accused Aitazaz ahsan of corruption and vice versa. Rather, NS went on to apologize to Ahsan.

Well, how do you define getting justice? If you are poor anywhere in the world you won't get justice b/c its an abstract concept. When I got out of law school I used to work for public defender's office (my first job). I don't know now, but back then lawyers were assigned by a judge as suspects walked into the court and public defenders were paid $150 dollars (no joke) per case. Compare to that a someone who could afford a dedicated team of high price lawyers & scale of justice will automatically tilt in their favor. That is reality of how legal system works, not just in Pakistan, but even in developed countries like the US.
Re: SC dismisses all petitions seeking PM Nawaz's disqualification
Well, how do you define getting justice?....
My grandfather had a small plot of land occupied by a politically affiliated group. He went to court in 1970s. He is dead now. My brother is still keeping the case going when nothing happened even after High Court decided in his favor.
Now, we are not really poor. We can afford the thing for half a century. I just wonder how the poor would fare if they ever get into such litigation while the cases involving rich and powerful get decided in days.
