ISLAMABAD, (SANA): Supreme Court has accepted the plea filed against expected removal of Chief of Army Staff and ISI chief, while court has summoned reply of federation regarding the plea with in two weeks.
A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Friday heard the petition filed by the F.K Butt advocate regarding the expected removal of Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani and Director General Ahmed Shuja Pasha.
The court conducted the early hearing of the petition and accepted it for further hearing; meanwhile Attorney General for Pakistan (AGP) informed the SC that there is no plan to remove General Kayani or General Pasha.
Attorney General of Pakistan informed the apex court that the government had no intention to remove both the officials and the petition was not based on facts but speculations.
The court observed that relations should be improve and ordered to submit the government’s stance in written form.
The AG sought time to submit government’s assurance regarding the case.
The court granted two weeks time to AG for submitting written reply and adjourned the case.
