Sayyid ne Karbala mein wa'day nibaah diye hain [marsiya]

assalamu alaa manitaba al Huda
As everyone knows real Sunnis and all REAL Muslims love Hazrat Imam Hussain alayhisalaam and the blessed Ahle Bayt-e-athaar of our beloved Nabi alayhi salaato salaam. Therefore this marsiya below is only for the aashiqaan-e-Ahle-Bayt and not for the Wahaabis out there. Therefore please keep your comments to yourself if you are one. Thanks.

For the rest, this is a beautiful poem and it has been sung wonderfully by Prof. Abdul Raoof Roofi.

Sayyid ne Karbala mein wa'day nibaah diye hain
Deen-e-Muhammadi kay gulshan khilaa diye hain

Bolay Hussain, "Mawla teri raza kii khaatir
Ik aik karkay mein ne heeray loTaa diye hain"

Deen-e-Nabi pe vaarii Akbar ne bhi jawaani
Abbas ne bhi apnay baazu kaTaa diye hain

Zaynab kay bagh mein bhi do phool the mehektay
Zaynab ne woh bhi donon raah-e-Khuda diye hain

Zahra kay naaz paalay, phoolon pe sonay waalay
Karbal ki khaak mein woh heeray rulaa diye hain

Bakhshish hai uskii laazim Sayyid kay gham mein "Hafiz"
Do chaaar aansoo ro kar jis ne bahaa diye hain

i think this qawwali is by aziz mina qawwal or sabri qawwal. This qawwali is very inspiring and reminds me of the great qawwalis that sufis used to spread Islam in subcontinent. Hazrat Data gnaj baksh, hazrat nizamuddi aulia, hazrat lal shahbaz qalander to mention some.

Thanks all

Azam bhai --that is a beautiful qawwali–I have heard it sung also by the Sabri Brothers. Yes, those great awliya you mentioned did spread Islam!

CT Shiraz,

I think maybe you are a Shia right? I am a Sunni. The difference is ke Hazrat Imam Hussain alayhi salaam wa radhi Allah anhu were NOT mazloom. This is the difference I think. We Sunnis say, “Wah Hussain!” and you say “Aah Hussain!” Mazloom is someone whom is helpless, wallahi it is our imaan that if Imam Hussain had wanted he could have ordered water to come out of the barren land and it would have but he was instead happy with the raza of Allah Ta’aala. Hence we say “wah Hussain, kya shaan hai aap ki bhi!” Of course, we are saddened by the shahadat of so much of Our Nabi’s Aal mubaarak (sal allahu alayhi wa sallam) and we do weep in Muharram but we do not beat ourselves.

Allah hum sab ko Imam Hussain ki shahadat ki azmat ke waastay saccha aqeeday par jeenay aur marnay kii tawfeeq ataa farmaaye. ameen.

Sheeraz CT,
The way we *mourn the almiya (tradegy) of karbala and sacrifices of syyedna hussein r.a * is different than u guys but we love Prophet (s.w)'s nawasa the same.

Syyedna Hussein (r.a) is equally loved and admired by all sects in Islam and even by nonmuslims.
